It was a result fitting of the theme last night at the AESC. On a night where ghosts and ghouls took in the action off the ice, the Monsters took it to the Heat on the ice.
In stark contrast from the night before when the Heat banked a convincing 4-2 victory over the Lake Erie Monsters, the team dropped a 3-1 decision to the visitors.
Trick or Treat? The Abbotsford Heat’s annual Monster Mash game on Saturday, October 26 brought all kinds of hair-raising beings to the AESC. Thanks to photog extraordinaire Clint Trahan for the picture.
Rochester Americans forward and Buffalo Sabres prospect Cody Hodgson was kind enough to sign an 8×10 of a shot I took the night before. Photo of a Jason Kurylo photo for Pucked in the Head by Jason Kurylo for Pucked in the Head. Whoa. Meta.
Jason and Chris dance around the line between blogger and journalist. Just how much fanboy should creep into a blogger’s actions should they garner media accreditation — partial or full — with the teams they cover?
Barry Brust makes one of 39 saves on the night to lead the Abbotsford Heat past the Texas Stars 2-1 in a shootout. Photo by Jason Kurylo for Pucked in the Head.
On Saturday night at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre, the hometown Heat used the ol’ shootout to decide the second half of a back-to-back against the Texas Stars. All-Star goaltender Barry Brust made 39 saves on 40 shots for the 2-1 win — like this one during a first period that saw the visitors gain a 17-9 advantage on the shot clock. Below you’ll find a plethora of pictures from the game, including a still from the winning shootout goal by Krys Kolanos.
